5.23.23 Hello Summer

5.23.23 Dyeing my Hair; The End of an Era The summer before my senior year of high school I dyed my whole head of hair blue and purple. And I kept up with it for six years. It was almost a defining trait, it was how my friends and family found me when I wandered off in public, it was the thing I got the most compliments on, it was honestly a really big part of my life. And I just re-dyed it black. Not quite my natural color but pretty damn close.  It feels a little weird to look in the mirror and not see myself with blue hair, but I actually really like it. It feels different, it definitely looks different, but it looks amazing. For the last few months, I have been ready for it. It honestly looks right and as much as I loved the blue I think it was time. Not because I’m “grown up,” I totally would have kept it, but I think it was time for a change. Everyone jokes about a girl cutting her hair after a break up and graduating kind of feels like breaking up with my school in a way....

5.11.23 Goodbye Undergrad

5.11.23 I don't think I'll be able to write and post quite so often as I go into the summer, though you'll get a series of at least three posts about my graduation trip this summer. But anyway- the point of this post, today was the first day of finals. I don't have any, I had a final paper for my history class (more on that later) and I just had to finish turning in class work for my art class. It definitely happened. I think everyone's first year (on campus especially) is their first chance to be an "adult" and their first chance to rebel. And b...

Introduction Post

May 9, 2023  Hello! Welcome! My name is Anne and welcome to my blog! This will be a place for me to talk about my academics, my travels, and the day to day. I'll start out with a little introduction-  As of this fall I will be starting a masters program in Medieval Studies at Swansea University in Wales! I'm super excited for this, I grew up traveling quite a bit and after so long in one place I've been itching to get moving again. Swansea is such a god location, close to the water and only an hour from London. I know I'll be busy with academics but I'm also planning plenty of weekend trips and things to do on breaks.  By the end of this month I'll be graduating with a dual bachelors in history and art history. I double majored in history and art history, and I got a minor in Renaissance studies too! I really love the way that the topics can play into each other and how one can be used to help analyze the other. I did my undergraduate thesis in history on the Wa...
